Ephemeroptera
Scientific knowledge about Ephemeroptera in Brazil has grown considerably in recent years, mainly taxonomic knowledge due to descriptions of new species and genera of the group. However, although growing, this knowledge is mainly concentrated in the Southeast region of the country. The concentration of studies in certain areas of Brazil reflects the lack of specialists working in the other regions and the logistical and financial difficulties to access other locations. As a result, in the North, the second region with the largest number of studies on Ephemeroptera, most studies were carried out in the state of Amazonas, a reflection of the work of researchers from the National Research Institute - INPA and its collaborators in the Southeast.
