THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF KNOWLEDGE FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT: THE AMAZON INTEGRATION FOUNDATION IN SUPPORTING RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
Support Foundation, Western Pará, Public and Private Partner.
The present work aims to discuss how the Research Support Foundations institution (FAP’S) is articulated and the action of Technological Innovation Center (NIT), as well the Institute of Science and Technology (ICT’s) identify their potential, their skills, protecting research results and disseminating their know-how. In the most particular aspect, it reports the experience of the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA) and the partnership with the Amazon Integration Foundation (FIAM). Based on a bibliographic and documentary base, the importance of the relationship between UFOPA and FIAM is discussed, which involves the University's adjustments to the legal framework, established by the Law of Innovation and the New Regulatory Framework for Research, Development and Innovation (PD&I) and the Institutional Development Plan (PDI / UFOPA). For this purpose, it is pointed out the importance of FIAM to assist UFOPA in the production and systematization of knowledge and its availability to various sectors in order to strengthen local initiatives, for the development of the Western Region of Pará.
