SUMMARY:

Coronaviruses are part of the Coronaviridae family, some species can infect humans and cause Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. The new coronavirus, called SARS-CoV-2, which causes the respiratory disease COVID-19, was first identified in December 2019 in China, in March 2020 the disease was considered a pandemic. The rapid spread of COVID-19 has significantly increased hospitalization rates worldwide. In addition to the potential for transmissibility, the disease manifests itself with extremely heterogeneous symptoms, ranging from mild respiratory symptoms to systemic impairments, it is estimated that generalized inflammation can acutely damage the liver in up to 60% of cases. This study aims to analyze the clinical, epidemiological and laboratory aspects of patients with COVID-19 who were discharged or died at the Regional Hospital of Baixo Amazonas (HRBA), identifying possible post-COVID-19 sequelae. This is a quantitative research with retrospective analysis, involving data from electronic medical records of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 who were hospitalized in clinical beds of the medical clinic, oncology clinic, surgical clinic, pediatric clinic, Reception and ICU of the HRBA in the period of March 13, 2020 to May 30, 2022. The research is under development, approved by the Ethics and Research Committee (Opinion number 5.332.611, CAAE 50826721.3.0000.0171) on April 5, 2022. Preliminary data: A total of 120 cases of inpatients due to COVID-19 were studied in the years 2020 to 2022. A prevalence of males, aged over 60 years, brown, with complete elementary education and from Santarém was observed. Most were admitted to the ICU with a clinical outcome of discharge. Systemic Arterial Hypertension was the most reported comorbidity, as well as respiratory symptoms. There were changes in MAHs and IMs in all studied periods and for both groups, with emphasis on the death group.
