SUMMARY:

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a lentivirus that causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), responsible for a progressive deterioration of the immune system, affecting the human body's immune defenses, making it progressively more susceptible to infections. and opportunistic diseases, such as Neurotoxoplasmosis, one of the main opportunistic infections that affects this immunocompromised patient, often showing a clinical picture compatible with encephalitis, presenting symptoms such as: stiff neck and back, amnesia, paralysis, muscle weakness and convulsions. Objective: To evaluate the functionality of adult patients immunocompromised due to HIV infection diagnosed with Neurotoxoplasmosis in a hospital setting in Western Pará. Methodology: this is an experimental, cross-sectional study with quantitative analysis; being carried out through data collection using questionnaires and assessment scales; within the outpatient and specialized hospital environment providing public care in Western Pará, in the municipality of Santarém. Expected Results: through this research it is expected to provide an overview of the neurological scenario of immunosuppressed patients with Neurotoxoplasmosis; the possibility of publication thus reverberating in public policies, as well as the recognition and improvement of health strategies on these topics in hospital or outpatient care. Final considerations: in this way, promising research is evidenced, in order to portray a regional population covering its specificities and peculiarities, in which it will be possible to understand and understand the relationship between the disease and possible changes and how to better evaluate and analyze it.
