SUMMARY:

In recent years the implementation of integral education has been the subject of discussions, and presents itself as a challenge for the management and school community. This is due to the objective conditions of Brazilian education that often make it impossible to build another possible school, which meets the precepts of the integral education of the human being. In this context, the Amazon is located, specifically, it stands out here, the Metropolitan Region of Santarém – Pará, composed of the Municipalities of Santarém, Belterra and Mojuí dos Campos, because there are some obstacles to the promotion of integral education in this Brazilian region. In this sense, this research is developed with a view to answering the following problem – Are the actions of Integral Education made possible by school management in the teaching units of the Metropolitan Region of Santarém – PA? And based on this questioning, we present the thesis – "Educational policy and school management are interrelated for the effectiveness of Integral Education in the teaching units of the Metropolitan Region of Santarém – PA". Therefore, its general objective – To analyze the actions of integral education in the Metropolitan Region of Santarém-Pará, through the management of municipal public schools. This is a qualitative study, based on bibliographical, documentary and field research in three municipal public schools of the RMS, with the study participants being three school managers, with whom semi-structured interviews are conducted. Therefore, this research is based on discussions about the promotion of the full development of the student from practices that induce Integral Education in public schools, where the manager has a primary role so that the right to integral education is assured. For it is understood that for the achievement of integrality in human formation it is necessary to expand and diversify the educational experiences of students. Thus, the actions in the school environment need to move towards the viability of Integral Education through its organization, which should be carried out through collective work with the participation of all those involved in the educational process, and directed by the school management, although the challenges in the daily school life are diverse for the effective integral formation of the student.
