SUMMARY:

This work deals with an ongoing research that aims to identify trends in the editorial
production of children's books, whose empirical object consists of children's books with the
"Highly Recommendable" seal of the annual award of the National Foundation for Children's
Books and Youth (FNLIJ ), in the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. It is known that the production
of books for children has a strong link with education and school, with the book being a
product of symbolic cultural good, the result of artistic, intellectual, political work , social, we
will also be attentive to the fact that in the publishing industry, it is a marketing product. Our
problem consists of identifying the trends of this production, with regard to the arts that are
presented, to the graphic projects, to the aesthetic elements, to the historical, cultural, political
and artistic aspects. As an investigative strategy, we are using document analysis, in which the
procedures for selecting, understanding and analyzing documents of the most varied types
make our research possible, as we will analyze regulations, lists of results, old reports,
interviews, books, statutes and as many others as may be necessary. needed. Our research is in
the process of theoretical basis on the concepts of Literature, Children's Literature, Aesthetics,
Reading, Children and Childhood, especially to point out definitions about what is a book for
children?
