Teaching Philosophy in private schools in Santarém between 2005 and 2020: reflections from the teaching perspective
Teaching of Philosophy; Private school; teaching; precariousness
This master's research aims to diagnose the teaching of the discipline of philosophy in the context of secondary education in the private school network in the city of Santarém-Pa, having as a parameter the teaching perspectives in the period from 2005 to 2020. The choice of this theme is justified by there is no academic work on this topic to support diagnoses and design actions to improve the quality of this teaching and because of my trajectory as a philosophy professor in this reality, for which we find difficulties and challenges. The theoretical foundation of the research is established from Gallo (2004), Carminati (2018) and Severino (2010). A survey was carried out with the CAPES database and also with the repositories of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA), through which we can see the need for research related to the teaching of philosophy in the Region Oeste do Pará. The empirical research is being carried out through structured and open interviews with philosophy professors and pedagogical coordinators of high school who work or have worked in philosophy teaching in the context of private education. From the research, we could see that the teaching of the philosophy subject in the private school system in Santarém is marked by contradictions and weaknesses, since the subject is still treated in a secondary and still stigmatized way, resulting in a process of devaluation of the Philosophy teacher.
