SUMMARY:

The research proposes the study on the initial formation of digital native teachers in the Amazon of Pará, seeking to know the paths taken by the Federal University of West of Pará (UFOPA) and its Degrees, specifically the Pedagogy and Educational Informatics Course, in order to know proposals , plans, practices, reflections and perceptions on the subject. The theoretical assumptions that support the research include discussions on culture and cultural identity to understand the conceptions of digital culture and digital natives, with emphasis on the contributions of the authors of Cultural Studies, as well as other theorists who research the themes of generational diversity. We also place ourselves on the discussions of identity and teaching profession, as well as the initial training of teachers in Brazil. The study has as methodological assumptions the documentary research using the institutional and pedagogical documents of UFOPA and the Degrees participating in the research; and field research using participant observation techniques and application of questionnaires, interviews and focus groups adapted to the reality of non-face-to-face pedagogical activities or remote UFOPA activities, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The research participants are the students and professors of the Degree in Pedagogy and Degree in Educational Informatics at UFOPA. Documentary analysis and content analysis are the methods used for the treatment and assessment of data.
