SUMMARY:

The general objective of this research is to carry out an analysis of the pedagogy of quilombola school education, with a specific focus on the teaching practices of teachers who work in schools located in quilombola communities in the municipality of Santarém-PA. The specific objectives include the construction of a comparative analysis between the teaching practices of teachers who work both in quilombola schools in plateau areas and in floodplain areas. The aim is to observe how these teaching practices involve methodologies, pedagogical content and evaluation methods, whether or not related to the guidelines present in the National Curricular Guidelines for Quilombola School Education (Resolution nº 08, 11/20/2012) and in the Curricular Guidelines National Councils for the Education of ethnic-racial relations (Resolution nº 01, 06/17/2004). The research will seek to describe how teachers themselves understand and describe such teaching practices, through interviews, questionnaires and direct observations in schools. It will be discussed how the racial, ethnic and territorial origins of teachers in these schools can be seen as relevant variables to mediate the observation and analysis of the relationship between teacher, school, students and community. The prolonged coexistence of teachers in the quilombola territory is considered a relevant assumption for the quality of pedagogical practices in quilombola school education, as well as for the improvement of the pedagogical content developed in the classroom. Furthermore, a chronological trajectory of the quilombola movement in Santarém will be presented, as well as which quilombos make up the FOQS (Federation of Quilombola Organizations of Santarém).
